From the two-part warm and nocturnal melancholy — courtesy of Valestine — to the stark, machine-like sensibilities of SLF’s “Untitled”, the whitewater collective pursues sound as an instrument of communion between them while wearing their personal obsessions on their sleeves. On their first release as a label — a compilation from the current roster — intimacy is a main character; its role played by electronic devices. The additional 5 cuts span from the sibilant, steaming drones of Safety Lacrosse, the blood-and-guts melodrama of Esau and Leisure Exports, a jubilant underwater-party banger via Lustier Exposer, to the insouciant extravagance, sci-fi aggression of Valestine & Leisure Exports' first collaboration.
